As a pediatric dermatologist, I teach kids and their families how to take care of their skin. But in order to take care of what’s on the outside, it’s also really important to take care of what’s on the inside. How we think, how we feel, how we move our bodies, what we put inside our bellies. As you know, we spend a lot of time at our visits talking about nutrition because knowing your relationship with food can help you build the intuition of how to best nourish your mind, body, and soul. To me, food can be more healing than any medicine I can prescribe. Food is life-giving, food is energy-healing, food is soul-stirring, food is spirit-reviving, and when received with an open heart and gratitude, it brings with it peace, warmth, comfort, love, and JOY.
